Allergology

The Allergology Service provides services for diagnostics and treatment of allergic diseases. The Service of Allergology consists of two units:

  • In-patient service, which carries out diagnostics of allergic diseases and bronchial asthma, and provides treatment,
  • Outpatient service, which realizes regular follow-up of the children with allergic diseases and asthma, as well as conducts educational activities for the children and their parents.

There is Asthma School functioning within the Service of Allergology. The objectives of the

School are:

  • to provide general information about asthma, bronchial asthma management,  treatmentmethods and medication
  • to teach patients to identify the disease severity level
  • to teach to use nebulizer, spacer, etc.
  • to establish stable and successful cooperation between doctor and patient for the efficient
  • treatment and management of bronchial asthma.

The doctors working at the Service of Allergology regularly participate in trainings organized in Armenia and foreign countries to exchange experience and to keep abreast with new developments and innovations in the field.

The following tests are provided at the Service of Allergology:

  • Skin-prick test to find out to which substance your child is allergic to,
  • Lung function test to assess lung function, as well as diagnose different lung diseases, the level of lung disfunction and treatment efficacy,
  • Nasal Provocation test to assess the reaction of upper respiratory airways to allergens and irritants,
  • Methacholine provocation test to assess the reaction of lower respiratory airways to methacholine.
  • Intradermal skin test
  • Ice-cube-test for diagnosis of cold urticaria
